Benign Tumor

Benign Tumor

The term benign tumor refers to a tumor or mass in the body that does not grow in an unlimited or aggressive way, does not invade the tissues around it, and does not spread throughout the body. In other words, benign tumors are not cancer. Most require no treatment and have no negative effect on the affected person’s health. However, some benign tumors may cause health problems because of their location or size, and require treatment.
